Here are the exhaust clips I made of my 3.4L Firebird with the American Thunder Cat-back exhaust from Flowmaster:
- Clip 1 My stock muffler with one 3-1/2" chrome tip installed by previous owner.
- Clip 2 This is a clip of everything from the cat back removed (cat is still in place but nothing remains behind it).
- Clip 3 The same thing recorded again without us talking and a rev to about 3500 rpm.
- Clip 4 This clip is the Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-back installed revving to about 2500 rpm. This clip is the very first time the car was started after installation. The clip has some noise in it for some reason so I'll make another one later.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the system. I ordered it from Summit Racing and a friend and I installed it in an afternoon. The interior sound levels under normal driving are low to moderate. It sounds better than I expected too! Although my friend and I agree that when there was no exhaust at all behind the cat, the sound it made when running was AWESOME. It sounded like a big motor pumping out twice the horsepower it actually is making.
